Hello,
When I write something (Gedit, Gajim, etc), then slowly put cursor onto it
(input filed), I have buggy vanishing of the mouse cursor. It happens with
different DEs (I've tried Cinnamon, MATE). I use Intel driver and have
system up-to-date.
I don't know what to do, tried to disable HWCursor
I too get duplicates all the time.

One pitfall of transfering from XFree3.* to XFree4.* is that the config file is
now: "\etc\X11\XF86Config-4" instead of "\etc\X11\XF86Config".
You might want to make sure that you configuration is save as the right file.
Good luck.

I worked around by removing kde packages until I can upgrade kdelibs3, packages
back. So far, everything works just fine.
I have exactly the same problem, and it has been reported sey
and today. I guess the package is not configured properly.
Could the maintainer please upload another version? Thanks.
