Hi, any chance someone could tell me the correct incantations for
compiling dpkg from source? I've tried both the versions in hamm and
slink, but the INSTALL file is just a default gnu configure one, and
./configure (it's installation instructions) does nothing useful. I also
tried autoconf and
Since getting hamm updates today, nothing wants to compile.. everything
ends up with a few pages of errors after hitting the first file. Are
there any fixes out for this?
libg++27-dev was not initially installed, but I tried plugging it in to
see if it would make a difference, to no avail. (lib

Take a look at postgresql.. You can find it on the web at

Hello, I'm having a bit of difficulty using the /etc/userdb.db method to
map usernames.
I think the problem is coming in with this step:

Has anyone noticed that the debian web site has changed into a berlin

KDE Beta2, which I've compiled and been using on my bo systems has been
quite stable, with none of the problems you've mentioned (there was a
problem with the SuperUser filemanager option because kfm wasn't in the
PATH after the su, but a symlink to /usr/bin fixed that).

I'm not sure how high quality you're looking for, but there are a couple

I'm going to be installing linux on an alphastation shortly, and would
like to install debian (which I've used with much success for 2 years now)
instead of redhat, but only hamm - unstable is available. Any comments on
the stability of this? It will be a remote server, so X is not an issue.

Hi, I am having the following problem after having gotten and installed
the updated version of bind from bo-updates (the one showed is after
downgrading back to see if it would fix the problem - errors are the same)

Thanks for the blazing fast response. :) Tried that to no avail (using
accelx 3.1 and the SVGA server from 3.2 - just noticed I had that package
on hold as I was using accelx).. after downloading the SVGA server from
xfree86 3.3, things are working again.
