I have several servers which VGA output is connected to the same screen
by a VGA switch (a KVM). If I want to let the screen go in standby mode,
I just connect it to an unplugged KVM input or switch it off manually.
So I don't have any interes in console automatic blanking activated by
default

I had the same
problem as you ! I fixed it by removing the exucution rights to the several
files causing the problem.
So try some chmod
a-x to all files causing problem and the install will
continue.

I use it on a small network with just 6 machines, but I find that it

lead to mailbox corruption or loss of messages.
So what is the proper way to lock a user mailbox ?
By the way, the tkmail program seems unable to lock it, it tries to
create a ".lock" file but has not enough permission to do it.
