loading at startup - however i
lack a /dev/video* device and am unsure how to create one - mknod
/dev/video0 c 81 0 produces a device which v4l cannot access/does not
recognise. i am using a stick debian kernel 2.6.7 - can anyone help
me with either of these problems?

mucked up, for both oss (/dev/dsp,/dev/mixer) alsa
(/dev/snd/*), and nvidia stuff (/dev/nv*), when i change anything
in /dev (creating a folder, changing permissions) the changes revert on
reboot

doesnt seem to detect my cdrw, it is set up properly (using ide-scsi
(kernel 2.4)), the fstab entry looks like this:

the drive simply doesnt show up in the write CD dialog
