mouse problem under Xwindows

I have potato installed using a SiS6326 4MB graphics card. After the SVGA server was installed Xwindows loads ok but I cannot control the (ps2) mouse. The mouse works ok in console mode. I think the Xwindows version is 3.3.6. Thanks for your help. JWC

networking 2 pcs

I have two pcs connected by a crossover cable. Both have their nics appropriately configured, (to 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2, resp). I cannot get them to ping each other. I think the problem is that the telnetd service is shut off in both of them. The slackware box is connected to the internet so

configuring potato to recognize 3com ethernet card

Off the cdrom installation of potato results in a setup that does not utilize my 3com509xxx card. The config file has CONFIG_NET=y CONFIG_NET_VENDOR_3COM=y What else do I need. Thanks JWC
