On the topic of DNS anyone kind enough to forward a copy of a named.conf
file for bind that shows me how to setup the domains I host on the dns
server as seconardy.
named.boot contains (cut to show example of interested part)
secondary domainpri\domain.zone
I just need to know how
I want to monitor other stuff with the snmpd service.. I have a config file
that lists the procs or processes that I want to monitor. But I am lost how
I get mrtg to monitor anything except for ppp0 and eth0 which I have it
currently doing.
Anyone got snmpd.conf files I can look at and also an exa
Ideally.. I'd like to allow snmpd to work on my whole 203.41.122.128/26
subnet.. so that I can monitor a few other pcs...

Ok cool.. The script I got works ok.. few problems.. one of which I want to
solve ASAP is that snmpd doesn't work.. I run mrtg on the linux machine that
the packet filtering runs on.. I tried several commands that deal with ports
161, 162. But still not managed to get snmpd to work. Anyone care to
Just from memory.. next time you reboot that pc.. goto your bios setup.. and
make sure that you have IDE POWER DOWN turned off.. as if you have it on and
APM stuff not in your kernel, this will cause such problems I believe...

I believe.. try this...
go into card bios for the SCSI card.. and on each ID device.. turn UW
negotation for those ID devices that don't require it.. and if say ID #0 is
a UW scsi drive.. then leave UW negotation on.. once you done that save the
settings to the UW card.. and retry linux..
I think
When using ip_masquerading, I have seen a friend block machines on his
internal network from using http/ftp/telnet to any address on the outside
using ipfwadm. ie 192.168.1.5 not allowed to use ftp(21), telnet(32) and
http(80) to anywhere by using 0.0.0.0 in the command line or something
similar. N
Thanks to all.. this may fix what I have problems with..
