(For the curious, Tecra is a line of laptops from Toshiba. Apparently the
problem that prevents Tecra laptops from booting also prevents other
recent Toshiba laptops from booting, too.)

This is indeed in your Apache config. In /etc/apache/httpd.conf, read
about the UseCanonicalName option. You'll want to turn it off, I gather.

Of course, for the usual reasons (including safety against accidents, and
security) you should use your normal user account for your daily work.

you see the shell prompt (something that ends in "#") type dselect. The
menu should come up.
If that doesn't work for you, please send mail to the list saying what you
typed, and what you saw (exactly).
