Upgrading to testing

I am trying to use sarge. To do so I followed these steps 1. Installed woody 2. apt-cdrom add (sarge cds) 3. apt-get update 4. apt-get upgrade 5. apt-get install x-window-system Are these the best options? Now I want to make gnome my desktop but I am not sure about what package should I install
