and the whole install process started and completed in under
five minutes. It all worked fine after that.
I suggest that, since this is a beta release, the license states
what it does because it is exactly that...beta software.
I hope this helps.

First do a depmod -a after installing the modules .
The modules under Debian are in /lib/modules//
i.e. network modules on kernel version 2.2.18 would be at;
/lib/modules/2.2.18/net

hould probably get similar results. Issue the
"find" command as root if you can. That way it will not be denied
entry into some directories.
Also, if you are not already aware of it there is good information at
this location on getting a wheel mouse to work under X.

hat might be your problem is that

When you reconfigured you XF86Config file did you do it using

If you didn't chances are some or most of the "Modeline" values are not

Salman,
The Ethernet HOWTO has lots of information on the 3COM cards (including
the
3c905B) and how to make them work under Linux.
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Ethernet-HOWTO.html
I do have a 3C905B and a second card installed and operating just fine
in a 733MHz Pentium system connected to a cable modem. I was able to
get them
working by following the info in the HOWTO.

so I can't suggest a "type" selection in gpmconfig for you.
Good luck on getting this working before Monday.

I have to agree with the others; 4.75 is working very good
and stable on my system.

What is strange is I did an apt-get dist-upgrade on a
system with slink installed and the upgrade went flawlessly.
I am stuck here. I have spent numerous hours trying to find what
is wrong but have come up empty handed. If anyone has any ideas
I would be grateful to hear from them.
Thanks a lot.

ne has any ideas about this I sure
