I have debian squeze on which I'm trying to get uvesafb running with
custom built kernel 3.6.6 (hardware is an HP Elitebook 8540w)
I've compiled the uvesa (uvesafb.ko) and the Connector - unified
userspace (cn.ko) as a module which are loaded via initramfs. As far
as I can see everything loads cor
6.06 running the two guest debians.
Frankly I have no problem with installing udev if you think that would make
my problems go away...

sarge installed
on XEN machines. Namely the /dev/ull permissions look like crw-rw.
I've tried changing the permissions with
chmod 666 /dev/null
Also tried recreating the device with the right permissions
mknod /dev/null c 1 3
