The ALSA init.d script seems to be broken. It doesn't work at all for
me. I have to manually insert the modules.

I have also just now discovered that OSS emulation doesn't work if
something else is already playing. Is it supposed to work like this? If
so, I don't see a whole lot of improvement from OSS to ALSA.

Trying 8Khz, 8bit mono.
Couldn't open any alsa card! Last card tried was 0
Error opening card 0: Sound protocol is not compatible
Sound device inadequate for Esound. Fatal.
Has anyone ever encountered this before? Any idea
Are there any guides or howto's available for getting ALSA 0.9.x working
in Debian? (I'm using sid.)
