I checked if phonon-backend-xine was installed. It wasn't - due to some
broken dependencies. I've installed it, and now I have a functional sound
system in KDE.

My last installed system included fancontrol via lm-sensors, and I was able
to configure fancontrol to make my PC almost free of noise.
