We made the choice for EXT3 ourselves, since it is the only filesystemm which
can be grown online and shrinked offline, and reiserfs is not really a
solution.
JFS/XFS can be grown online, but not shrinked, so
and usb modems (which sadly
are in non-free because of the closed source ADSL software modem
library).

i am not wrong, on almost the same timeframe
as X 4.3 was released, so i seriously doubt that it is incompatible, or
at least that early incompatibilities have not been fixed since.
So either it should run with 4.1 as present in woody, or go all the way
and work with a backport of the 4.3 packages.
Not that it is all that important, since we will have a sarge release
soon now :)))

o a lag
in new packages upload or something and will usually go away in a few
days.
The ideal would be a new apt keyword which would enable to install new
package but not remove old ones.

I don't know for the other apps, but X is counting your framebuffer
memory at least once in the 91M it uses.

Ok, that clarifies thing for me, so pdf is just another end-format, like ps,
from which i know it is based.
So no hope for me, i will need to get access to the source of said pdf

And if not, is there another solution to do that ? Apart from buying adobe
acrobat, that is.
Thanks for any help on this ?

e index file. You would have to check first, then
just copy the mbox format files, get ride of the index stuff, and maybe filter
the whole stuff trough dos2unix to get ride of the dos style CR.
But please check, it has been a long time since i last touched netscape mail
in a window box.

nd it works well for me, also the ability to use it
over a ssh connection is rather nice.
There is also a evolution package i have heard (even for unstable/ppc i think)
that should be rather nice.
Also i can send you some procmail/mutt rules if you like, as they may be
rather obscure for starters.

Just a stupid clueless idea, but what if we start the xserver from the
inittab, or at least have some line in the inittab saying that the
Xserver/gdm/whatever will use the vtxx, in the same way that init starts
getty's on his specific vt's ?
BTW, should we have a runlevel with X and a runlevel without X ? or do we
already have such a thing ?

. So best would be to be thinking about it and also include
the mesa maintainer in the reflection about future XFree 4.0 packages, unless
we want people complaining about why quake3 or whatever is not working as
expected for them.
