Yep, this I can reproduce, there are a couple of bug reports upstream
that seems to match and it looks like it has been fixed for the
upcoming 0.92.
As a work around you can enter the group and do the edits there,
instead of ungrouping and grouping again.

fighting with wpa_supplicant doesn't that mean that the
driver is working? Can you scan for access points? Can you connect to
an unprotected network?

it worked very well). If your DE doesn't have a similar option you'll
probably have to configure syndaemon yourself.
