I had a similar problem, tracked it down to having upgraded xkb-data.
After downgrading from 2.5-1 to 2.3-2 I was able to login again to gnome3.

I'm trying to start my hlds game server from account different than
root. From what I've read over internet the best way to do it is to
login as via ssh. But my system is set in way that would require me to
setup another instance of sshd. Therefore I would like to do it some

Hi,
I found out what was wrong. The cups in lenny uses the FQDN. You can
checkout the used FQDN using "ngrap".
There was no error reported by /vav/log/cups/error.log

one with the arrow key.
System --> Preferences --> Keyboard has options General, Layouts,
Accessibility, Mouse Key, Typing Break, and here to I am unable to move
from one to the next with the arrow key.
Anybody have any idea why this is so?
