I am attempting to compile the 2.0.38 kernel under debian using a
486

I have tried kernel-package and make bzImage. Both give the same
error as below. I have included all the packages that are currently
installed on my system. If you have any hints to what is going on,

I am still attempting to print to my serial printer using lpr.
I tried to following:
1)root# ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
2)root# route add -host 127.0.0.1 lo
3)reboot and made sure that the lpd started up correctly.
4)root# lpr test.txt
I still get the same result as before

How do make a symbolic link to a device, say if I want to make a
symbolic link between /dev/stylewriter and /dev/ttyS1, how would I do it?
Do you know of a way to interface a stylewriter II inkjet printer to
a 486 computer running debian through the serial ports? I have obtained
this working inkjet for free and am interested in getting it working
under debian.
Thanks,
Sean McIlwain

someone to use a sound card as an oscilloscope?
