Hi,
I'm using a DSL line for connecting to the internet and I'm trying to run
a jabber server.
The problem I have is that the jabber server stores each account with a
FQDN. Because I want to use my account from the internet and from my LAN,
I want to connect from my LAN to my external IP that is s
Hi,
I've got a problem with emacs. When I run "M-x shell" all escape characters for
setting colors in ls are expanded. That looks a little strange...
I'm running potato and emacs 20, my shell is bash.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
Thanks.

Hi,
try /dev/scd0 and /dev/scd1 for accessing your CD drives. I'm using the same
configuration and everything works fine for me.
You can also create an link /dev/cdrom that points to /dev/scd0 (if your CD-ROM
is your first cd drive).

I had the same problem. A quick & dirty method may be to copy this directory to
the harddisk.
Then run ./setup. A good idea will be to run ./setup /net to install the
binaries in one dir and just about 4 MB in your home-directory.

If you are using Windows as FTP client you can also check to if this client can
connect in passive mode (like the most browsers do).

Hi,
I solved the problem to connect to my IMAP server.
When I connect to it I can create folders and copy messages to them.
But when I close XFMail and connect again to the server there are only the
"system" folders (INBOX and trash) but noone of my created folders.
On the remote machine I instal
Yes, I ran /etc/init.d/squid restart to reload the config file and the
/etc/ban_domains.squid is readable to all, so this should no be a problem.

Hi,
I have some problems with squid and its ACLs.
I'm using Debian 2.2 with Kernel 2.2.13 and squid 2.2STABLE5.
My ACL section in /etc/squid.conf looks like the following.
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
acl manager proto cache_object
acl localhost src 127.0.0.1/255.255.255.255
acl SSL_ports port 44
What system are you using? I installed FP Ext and the tools on a Debian slink
2.1 and did not have problems get this tools running.
Try www.rtr.com. There you'll normally find the latest release including the
tools and the source code for the Apache module.

I had the same strange look when I used an ATI Rage 128 based graphicsadapter.
When I
switched the hardware acceleration off, the fonts became "normal". In the file
/etc/X11/XF86Config there could be an entry like
# "accel" off
I uncommented this line an X11 works normal.

I think this is the problem... I'm using 2.2.13.
It is possible to use only the "potato version" of xosview with the slink
distribution?
Thanks!

Hi!
Did anyone got problems with running xosview?
I'm running slink and GNOME 1.x with e-15.x. When I call xosview nothing appears
but 'ps ax' says that yosview is running...
Can anybody help me?

You have to download the Linux-Source or install the Debian package.
Then you'll find sound.h under /usr/src/linux/include/sound...
Before you can now run make you have to edit the Makefile and replace
INCLUDEDIR=/usr/include with INCLUDEDIR=/usr/src/linux/include...
Also compile a new kernel with
Hi!
I'm writing a HTML-based interface with PHP3 which connects to y MySQL
database. The access is no problem but I'm in trouble with the authentication.
My site has two columns, one for the data and so on and one for the navigation.
In this column I want to place two text fields (Username & Pwd).
I made a fatal mistake...
I added /usr/src/linux/include/linux :((
So I can't compile it.
Thanks for your help.
It sounds very nice ;-)

Hi!
There are still problems with the SB Live kernel module.
I have added the following lines...
Makefile:
-I/usr/src/linux/include to the line
CFLAGS += -I$(INCLUDEDIR) -I.

audio.c:

I used th e dpkg -S command but no file was found.
The other problem is I have installed the libc6-dev.
Do you have now any idea??? ;-)

Do I have to copy the source code files to the Linux kernel source tree??

Hi!
Who tried the new sblive module from Create Labs?? I can't compile it, because
make doesn't find the header file linux/audio.h.
Can anybody help me??

You have to edit your local /etc/printcap.
Add a line
rm=YOUR_SERVER_IP:\
rp=lp:\
But I think that you only have to uncomment und modify some lines in your
standard
Debian /etc/printcap.
