Hi,
Is there a way to mount a file system from another linux box?
For example, I'm sitting behind box1, and I perform some kind of mount
command so that I can mount the root at box2 so I can access it at box1
Just like mapping network shares in windows, and just like SMBMount, but I
don't want to
Hi,
Is it possible that Linux executes a script file when a user logs on?
So for example, if user RUDY logs on, it executes the /home/rudy/script
file, and when ROOT logs on, it executes the /root/script file!
Could anybody please give me some examples?
Thanks in advance,
Rudy
Hello,
I tried to mount a windows 98 share, but it just doesn't work! I can get the
share list, but when I try to mount, I get a password error!
Is there anybody who succeeded mounting a windows share? If so, could he
please tell me how he did it?
Thanks in advance,

Hi!

Hi,
I want to run my multinode BBS on Linux! It's currently running on Windows,
but windows crashes all the times!
Now I got a question, the board runs fine! All multinodes work perfectly.. I
set DOSEMU to use a partition instead of a disk image (/dev/hda2)
Now, the disk image contains a file EX
Hi Y'all,
My SMB.CONF file in RH 5.2 worked just fine... Everything worked out just
fine. Until. I installed RH 6.0 (Not Upgraded, coz I didn't had enough
diskspace on root :( ). Anyway. Anybody any ideas how to solve this? The
problem is that I cannot write to the public directory. Only read.
Hi Y'all,
Since I updated my RedHat 5.2 box to RedHat 6.0, I got some problems.
For example, in RH 5.2 I edited /etc/securetty and aded pty1 and pty2, and
ttyp0, ttypS1, ttypS2 etc, etc. So I could login with root at terminals and
telnet sessions.
But in RedHat 6.0 this doesn't work at all... No
Hi,
My linux boxes can't perform DNS lookups. For example, if I want to mount an
SMB Share, I have to do something like this:
SMBMOUNT //NTSERVER/NT_SHARE /MOUNTPOINT
But all I get back is: NTServer: Unknown host.
The same happends when I ping my NTserver using his domain name: Ping
NTServer

Hi,
I've got 5 linux boxes at the moment, and I want to connect a terminal (or
two) to all of them.
I got it working on 1 system, and it workes fine! But if I copy the
configuration files (/etc/gettydefs and /etc/inittab) they still don't work.
I just don't get any chars on my terminal screen.
Hi,
At the moment I have a 810 MB harddisk in my Linux box. I'm going to replace
it with a 12 GB Bigfoot. Can I just 'copy' the partitions? (Using ghost). Or
do I need to reinstall Linux (hate that. When I reinstall something I always
think of Windows)
Bye,
Rudy
You
see, I got this book about linux, they say to add :sh: and :sf:/ (something
like that, can't remember exactly) in my 'printcap' file.
Well, I did that, but I still got the same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Rudy Broersma
