Hi Josh,
you'd have to install the popt package for your include to work. It seems
like the gnome-popt you used does basically the same otherwise it wouldn't
have compiled ;)

Hi,
it depends on what you are trying to do. This message normally means that
the directory you wanna access (if you just do http://localhost/ it is the
DocumentRoot in httpd.conf) doesn`t have a index.html or whatever type is
configured in DirectoryIndexes in httpd.conf and additionally the Option
Hi,
anyone of you can supply any success reports on getting a SiS 630 to work
apart from Framebuffer?
I tried everything I could find out on the web to no avail. I even patched
a X 4.0 with the SiS driver. Best I can get is a bit of twm output in the
lower 3rd of the screen. Furthermore I now total
Hi,
you could have chances to get dvds working ok if you use a different
software. I currently have PIII-450 w/256Mb and xine is ready to play dvds
just perfect since quite some time. My gfx card is a G400 with 32Mb video
ram tho. Anyway checkout xine.sourceforgge.net and
xine.cjb.net. Installation
that is one thing. The other is that every nfs server can be used too.

Are you running on IDE? IF yes: SHUTDOWN AND PRAY immediately :)
Maybe the information hasnt so wide spread yet but test2 is bound to
corrupt your filesystems.

Hi John,
the mount & mtools thing is good to copy but if you are trying to copy
some ascii file and get into trouble with the different line break schemes
on unix/dos there is a tool out there called dos2unix and unix2dox
respectively. You can do that with tr as well but I dunno the syntax out

Hi,
you seem to not have compiled the parport module. You can find it under
General Setup in menuconfig.

Hi,
I recently did a dist-upgrade potato->woody.
Since then I am not able to use my alt-gr(right alt) key anymore.
I checked with xkeycaps read docs and all.
My alt-gr now produces:
state 0x0, keycode 113 (keysym 0xff7e, Mode_switch),
but on my german keyboard I cannot get any of @| and so on.
I ha
Hi,
if you suspect the mem to be faulty try compiling a kernel. This is a very
memory intensive process and if the memory is faulty chances are you get
the dreaded sig11.

Hi,
could it be that you did 'cat' or 'more' a file with strange control
chars? Maybe a binary? If that is the case you simply type 'reset' on that
console. That should fix that problem.

I think this is totally normal.
Thats why linux is fast. And if you need more memory for applications it
gets freed from cache or buffers. No need to worry.

Hi,
you don't wanna look for a debian package when you are missing a *.pm
(perl module).
Simply goto cpan.org insted. That is the perl package repository.

Have a look at www.minivend.com and see if it could fit your needs.
If it does you get a good software :)

Hi,
It depends on what bar code scanner you are trying to use.
There are barcode scanners that get inserted beetween the keyboard and the
computer. You can configure these type of scanners usually through reading
in config instructions in form of barcode supplied by the manufacturer.
They then simp
Hi Michael,
the question is what cards are supported by the kernel.
Check out /usr/src/linux/Documentation/isdn
I must say I had to do with all sorts of AVM cards except the B1 and they
are supported well nowadays. I didnt have any problems.
