Using KDE - the xhost +local:root command worked.
Didn't work if I tried to use a root console but when
I did it in a user console and then su'd root I was given
some error information which allowed me to get things going.

If I set the suid bit on xcdroast it tries to start

Hi, After doing apt-get upgrade on the mysql slave
servers the slaves have failed with the following:
ns2 mysqld_safe: 070407 12:08:08 [ERROR] Failed to open the relay
log './ns2-relay-bin.000177' (relay_log_pos 7270828)
The file ns2-relay-bin.000177 is in /var/lib/mysql, of course.
