I am working on making a custom kernel, and want to install the mii
module, but I can't find the option anywhere using 'make xconfig'. I've
looked through the config file of another kernel I have installed with
the module, but still don't find the option. Does anyone know what it is,

I am trying to get my mouse to work in both X and the ttys. Originally the
mouse worked fine in the ttys, and in X it would move about erratically,
and click randomly. I fixed this by changing the Device to /dev/gpmdata,
and changing gpm's repeat type to raw. (As I understand it, this causes

I recently made the mistake of trying to upgrade to some packages in
Woody, and because of that I can no longer get X to work. I'm now trying
to get things back to the way they were, and was told to use dselect to
do this. However when I mark Obsolete (Woody) packages for removal,

I added the testing sources to my sources.list in order to get a few

Linux only sees 64MB of my 256MB of RAM. Is there a way I can fix this?

to read cdrom. Though I do realize this may not be the best solution. I
think I'll try playing around with groups like David suggested. Though I
did
I am trying to compile a driver for my sound blaster live, following this:

When entering the command 'make depend' I got this error:

I just got XFree 3.3.6 running on Debian 2.1r2, unfortunately the text is
unreadable. It appears as a whole bunch of vertical lines, or random
blocks. It appears this way at every resolution. However when I bring
up a menu the text is fine until I high-light it with my cursor. The text

I am trying to install XFree86 3.3.6 on my system running Debian 2.1r2.
When using XF86Config I got no errors throughout the installation
process, and I am almost 100% sure that all of my settings correct. However
when I enter the command 'startx' I get this error:
