I can't get my sound to work. Everything that uses sound says it can't
open the sound device. Bplay gave me the best lead with this:
bplay: /dev/dsp: Device not configured
My question is, how do I configure /dev/dsp? MAKEDEV doesn't appear to do
anything.

I wanted to setup pon so that any user can use it who is in a secific

I am using kernel 2.0.34 and have compiled in /dev/dsp and /dev/audio
support under sound and filled in the correct info for my sounds card, yet
when I try to use something in sound, it says it can't open sound device.
Can someone help?

I have Debian and Winbloze on my 2.0 gig hd just fine. The only problem
is, Winbloze will not see any partition that is not it's own format. When
you format a partition for linux, you will lose sight of that partition in
Win95. Linux, on the other hand, can see all partitions, so you can still

I have a generic three button serial mouse on my computer. I can get X to
recognize two of them, but can't seem to find a mouse driver in XF86Setup

I used Afterstep as my window manager in X on Debian 1.3, and I just
installed X and Afterstep in Debian 2.0. The interface has completely
changed, but the biggest change is there doesn't appear to be a .steprc so
you can configure it. It seems to have some menu options for minor
modifications (i

Has anyone configured a PNP modem in Linux using PNPISATOOLS? I have a

I just installed Debian 2.0 beta off of my Cheap Bytes CD, and when I

This question might be hard to answer. I have an Amiga with a Squirel
PCMCIA card attacted to it. I want to install Linux on this machine and
access my SCSI drives off the Squirrel controller. Last I hear, there
were no drivers for the PCMCIA Squirrel card. Does Debian 2.0 for m86k

Will the release of Debian 2.0 support SyQuest removable drives in any
