I'm attempting to install Debian 1.3.1 as provided on the Infomagic LDR
aug97. I have a 486 with an adaptec 2842, and a spare partition on one of
the scsi drives. The system currently runs redhat 4.2, which I don't want
to disturb, so I'm using loadlin on files copied to hda as documented in

all of my prev. failed installs were from a cd, a couple of times I
downloaded a "base set" from the ftp site.
But the important thing is, ok if "bo" is stable and "hamm" unstable, how

Hi,
I've tried several times in the past year or so to install debian,
typically it installs ok from the 5 base floppies I make, but the kernel
hangs upon booting after the install. I suspect my odd NCR scsi card (an
ASUS SC-200) is confusing it, in combination with some other probing.
