My 7-year-old keyboard has a unique key named "MACRO" on its lower left
corner. `showkey' shows its keycode as 112, but under X I can't use this
key, even xev doesn't notice when I press/release it.
Any hints how can I use this button under X?

You can start a second X with this command: startx -- :1
So if you have 2 running Xs, one'll be at 'alt-f7' and the other at
'alt-f8'.
