can't load library

Hi, I have the following problems. Probably they are related somehow. 1- When I try to execute fvwm (or fvwm2 or gwm) I get the error message: fvwm: can't load library 'libXpm.so.4' However, the library is where it is supposed to be (/usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 which is a s-link to libXpm.so.4.
