tape scsi install prob on woody

hello to all i've got a probleme for installing my hp c1536-00480 scsi tape (DDS1). i don't know how to configure it; and when my pc run ; there is a orange diode flashing on the tape. the other diode does not flash, and i can't put a DDS1 HP cartridge in it. Someone could help me? Thanks
