woody - crash.

Helo. My woody - with 2.4.22 crashed today. When i came to see it , keyboard was blinking with diodes. What i had on the monitor was kdb debugging sth. that Oops'ed. Unfortunaetly due to lack of time ( i had to reboot it immediately) and lack of knowlegde i didnt analized what it was debugging.

Hi, I just want to turn off beeping in linux. It comes from the inner speaker (not from my sound card and portable speakers) when I press arrow keys in vi (it's just an example) and the cursor can't go any further. How am I to do it? Thanks for help, QBA

in mc (and its color is black). When I type 'ls -l' I get only the names (without '='). But I've just notice another strange thing 'bout these files. Namely, their permissions are odd to me. In the first place (where usualy is '-' or 'd' or 'l') there is 's'. What do you think about it? And returning to the second part of my earlier message. I don't use emacs. a name of some users. And these directories are full of files that I mentioned above. And just one more thing. Often when I run "ls" I can see files that end with "~". And when I want to see them in mc they disappeare. Why? Thank you for help, QBA

ust edit /etc/lilo.conf file and replaced your boot line (boot=/dev/hda2) and after that reload lilo (run /sbin/lilo). For further informations take a look to your lilo documentation. QBA

xim can do it but qmail can for sure. I'm using it and have no problems. It is easy to configure and with lots of docs that guide you through setting it up.
