My god, you're a genius!
That works! I'm in heaven!
Thank you so very much!
A thousand blessings to you and your kine!

I should post this on a
different list or something?
Clarifications gladly provided.

Hello everyone...
I'm wondering if anyone has packaged the rpm that creates the 3dfx
Voodoo device?
I can't get the archive inside the rpm to compile correctly manually.
I'm sure someone's solved this problem already, the only question is,
who?
I can use most Mesa/3dfx programs fine, including
Hello everyone...
Just got a simple question here.
Is there a facility to do a text search on the list of packages apt
has in /var/state/apt/lists?
It doesn't seem to be a part of apt-get and I haven't seen too many
other utilities.
Basicaly, something like "show me all the packages that have
Hey there...
Finally got apt-get to download slink packages for me. I don't know
exactly how I fixed it. I did two things: download + install slink base
manually, and install apt-get 0.3.0.
Anyway, I still have about 50 mb of packages to download and apt-get
annonyingly gives up the whole pro
Hello all,
I'm having problems with using apt-get dist-upgrade to get from Debian
2.0 to 2.1. My system currently has many slink packages installed, but
not all of them, and I would like apt-get to just upgrade them all for
me.
I've got apt 0.1.9 installed and I've edited my /etc/apt/sources.lis
Hello all,
I've got my X server cheerily up an running on display 0.
What I would like is for another user to be able to start an X server
from the command line on Display 1, and be able to switch back and forth
between X servers by hitting Alt-f7 and Alt-f8.
I'm using standard debian X related

Yes, I have noticed this too, only on 2.1.x kernels. Doing 'shutdown -r
now' seems to take care of it for me.

I would suggest that it is better to convert the rpm packages to deb
with alien before using. I have been doing this for months, and I have
not have one (obvious) problem yet ... the packages convert without fail
and install and run just fine. The reason I suggest doing this instead
of installing
Hello all,
After much banging of head against the desk, I am compelled to seek help
on the list. My problem is with Apache 1.3.3-3 and mod_perl 1.16-1. I
compiled both of them from slink source packages. After ensuring that I
had the proper libraries, it went flawlessly. I made sure the mod_pe

such luck... nothing lives at that address. Does he need to put
something in a config file or compile special PCI support into the
kernel? I had no problems with my internel modem, but then again it is
an ISA card. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

I am using the files in the hamm directory, which, AFAIK is the same as
what's on the CD.

a "clean::" into it but that didn't work.
What can I do? Has anyone else encountered this? Does someone have a
valid doc makefile that I can use? Or can otherwise clue me in on what
I am missing?
Your help is *greatly* appreciated.
