How do copy my / containing directory root boot tmp bin
proc etc to a different partition of same disk.
I used dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/dev/sda4 but it seems to "hang".
cp -up could not handle /tmp correctly

Thanks a lot ,
it worked , though vim was echoing $VIMRUNTIME correctly it had
conflicts with one in /etc/vim/vimrc I chnaged that and vim looks
colorful again.

what to do for kernel 2.6 I have similar problem
everytime after reboot I have to issue modeprobe -k psmouse
in kerne 2.6 and xfree86 how to get rid of it
