No joy here. I compiled and installed a 2.6.16 kernel but DRI is still missing
for my ATI IGP 340M. I am afraid that the new "radeon&

problem": I have no plans to revert to the old Xorg - when I decided
to upgrade I was aware of the risk - but I would lile to understand
why something working before is not working anymore.

All you need is mplayer, the w32codecs and mozilla-mplayer (aka
mplayerplug-in). It will work as a charm: tested with the Quicktime trailers
on Apple's website.

I have the foll. problem with "less". When it scrolls down, it just
writes the lower part of my monitor (the upmost few inches are left

I had to install X 4.3 because former version didn't support my video
card. I istalled it from a tarball downloaded from the Xfre86 site. Is
it possible to "tell" the packages databae managed by dpkg or apt-get
that this operation has been done?

I believe I have, after many pains, istalled the network. But I have not
installed X window. How can I test if it works?
(My box is connected to my Isp line through a Nat box that cotains a
dhcp server).
