Try it on a different client. I found the same issue but only with older
browsers.

I am running a 1.4 Athlon and am finding it fantastic. All I would say
is that if you are only going to be running Linux on it avoid XP as the
extra instruction searching will slow down (but this is truly marginal
in the scheme of most desktops).

If using Maildirs then consider maildrop. I personally find it rather
easy to configure but still packs plenty of options but if ~/mm is an
mbox then this isn't an option.
