Does anyone have shadow passwords working under NIS? on a default
potato install?
I have two freshly squeezed potato boxes, on which I am trying to
set up NIS (server, client).
I have followed the setup documentation (which is good)

Found it! The problem was with 'yiff', a sound server which is
suggested by the 'xshipwars' package.
I hardly switch off the machine that I installed it on, but when it was
rebooted (I'll have to talk to my SO about that one), 'yiff' opened

In a previous life (using solaris) it was possible to
have a netgroup file like..

'Gnome' is not starting up anymore, and I'm not able to run
gnome applications:
It opens a connection on the localhost to port 16001,
and waits, but doesn't get anything.. and seems to just be hanging.

service where any email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] was redirected to
another email address rather than bouncing.
I'm arranging a permanent IP address, and would like to have the
same functionality with email sent to [EMAIL PRO

I would like to hear some more details from the maintainer(s)...
I've needed to install 'locales' and 'i18n' during this process.
I have several machines which are in this state, and I've broken the
equivelent number, trying this. I just waiting for woody to become
'stable'.

A question about printing under Debian..
How does print filtering work under Debian. I had a system (which was
Redhat) which did all the magic. What packages/setup do I need to get
this to work.
