I have a Toshiba 2535 laptop, with a minimal Potato - X - Gnome install.
I got audio, ppp, and pcmcia going and decided to upgrade the whole
kitten caboodle to the latest stuff, so I apt-get updated, and apt-get
upgraded. When I rebooted, the kernel no longer recognizes the modem.
Now I get the mes

While doing an upgrade with apt-get, it put netstd in such an
"inconsistant" state that I can neither uninstall the old one, nor
reinstall it. I can't install the new either. It seems to be
looking for Debiannet.pm in @INC and can't find it.
How do I rectify this conundrum?
