To use hdparm to boost DMA speed,

i have the DMA enabled in the kernel, but some
of my drives that should use it don’t, so I used hdparm
to help that out, before hdparm I was getting 3megs a
second after hdparm I was getting 30megs a second, I was

What is a linux cluster and what
does it do? I have 3 linux servers that I could
cluster together, but what is the benefit? What would I actually gain by
clustering? I mean technically speaking
they are in a cluster right now, they are clustered all over my room..lol
Once you get hdparm working the
way you want it to with your drives what is the best way to make it start up at
boot? Put something in the /etc/rc.S file and make it
executable? Can someone post a script they have written so I can see what it
looks like etc?

I normally run testing on both my machines, but I have been
having some issues and wanted to try to go back down to stable or woody, when I
upgraded to testing it took about 45 mins to download
and install all the packages, via apt-get dist-upgrade, I changed my sources.list file back to wo
