Hi,
I am wondering where has task-print-service gone? When I try to update
my testing Debian installation, apt wants to remove task-print-service

Hey folks,
I’ve been trying to install Debian testing on an Asus x205ta laptop which

Hi all,

I recently installed Squeeze from the last week weekly snapshot and it

How do you add support for East Asian fonts in Debian Lenny? For

This issue has been addressed in bug #566184. I did not understand the
cause of the problem but it seems to have been fixed and packages are

Hi there,
On a recent install of Squeeze I get a message that "setting sensor limits"
fails. I am wondering whether this can be a threat to the hardware and if
there are any workarounds for this issue. I am running the amd64 2.6.32
kernel from testing on my HP Pavilion dv5 laptop.
Thanks.

I also experience this with Debian Squeeze on intel hda audio

will do any damage. I can tell you what I would try if I was concerned:

Hi there,
I've got an annoying problem with my laptop which is a Pavilion dv5. I

The problem is that at reboot the speakers make a loud noise which I
fear may damage hardware. This problem existed with somewhat older
kernels and it was worse. There used to b

I was able to achieve the desired resolution of 1280x800 (equivalent to,
I think, 0x361) by manually editing grub.cfg but the grub menu does not
show correctly. It only fills the left top quarter of the screen and
parts of it cannot be seen. The rest was fine (the boot up of linux I
mean) wit
It's weird but it's not working for me. Somehow update-grub (as well as
update-grub2, in case they are different) ignore all modifications to
/etc/default/grub. I'm giving up. Should I report a bug?
Hi, I use a slightly different way, I put:
GRUB_GFXMODE="1440x900 640x480"
in /etc/default
set gfxpayload=keep will tell Grub2 to hand off the graphics settings
to the kernel, which if configured properly will carry them forward.
There are some other settings to tweak as well, insmod vbe and whatnot
in the appropriate file, but that's about the gist of it. The nice
thing is it make

Hi there.
Does anyone know if the Flock browser is available in Debian?
According to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=335459 it
seems that the software was planned to enter the Debian repositories
long ago but I cannot find it. If it is available via APT, please let

Thanks Karl. The problem was solved by just having

Thanks Camaleon, Aioanei, Chris, and Alan. Adding
'gnome-settings-daemon' to the autostart directory did the job! I
removed the 'gtk-qt-engine' and 'qtcurve' packages I had installed. So
just having 'gnome-settings-daemon' fired up at startup seems enough.

Thanks all. I moved /opt to /usr/local/opt and then used the obvious

I have been trying to use the disk-manager utility to mount my NTFS

When I tried to make a FAT file system on a USB storage it turned out that
