I recently installed a scsi drive on my computer to that I could make it
dual-boot debian and windows NT, but my debian network card refuses to
work now after I installed the scsi drive. The network card says its
IRQ is blocked or used by another device. Being the Scsi controller is

recently purchases a scsi drive so that I can boot windows from the
scsi. Can I use lilo to tell it to boot the scsi drive up and run
windows? Trying to make a dual boot machine.

buy? Does only the controller matter or does the type of hard drive I
get matter to?

I just got a hp laserjet 6L and I'm trying to set it up I got it to
print by doing a cat > /dev/lp0 ,but the printing is sloppy, how do I
further configure my printer? I got gostscript from debian is there
anything else I can get to make setup easier.

My moniter screen has become wavy. When you look at it it seems to
move. I have a 21 inch dell moniter and a stb nvidia video card. My
moniter used to be fine but I recently moved it and now it is wavy like
a day after I moved it. Has perment damage been done?

do it with dip. I could really use a sample script or some suggestions

My X-windows automatically loads in 8dpp mode and I have a card that is
capable of much better how do I tell x to try other modes instead.

When I startx is always defaults to 8-bit mod. I would like to be able
to run 24bit or 32 bit color. I've tried to run the xconfig from
xwindows, but it won't work so I have been using the text based Xconfig
program. Also when it loads I have a 21 inch moniter and the x

already have jdk1.1 installed. So it won't let me install the
jdk1.1-dev. I'm trying to use the newest java stuff on linux so I'm
using slink and jdk1.16v2-1 and trying to install the corresponding

I have debian 2.0 installed on my system and I want to repartition
partition my hardrive differently and start over from stratch. However,
when I try to load from the rescue disk I get the Welcome to Debian
screen with the boot prompt when I press enter so that it will do the
default install I get
Linux doesn't seem to be compatible with my hard drive can anyone help
me. I have a 10.1 gig Ultra ATA EIDE drive made by IBM and I don't have
any luck installing debian or red hat.

I have a computer that came with windows 98 on it. I want to paritition
the drive and put linux on it but when I try to partition the drive
using debian basic install on the rescue disk it shows that my only
drive is dev/hda and when I try to paritition it I get a FATAL ERROR:

My rescue disk was bad, but I would appreciate anyone's help in my
setting up of Debian. I'm not real sure how to partion the hard drive.
