This turned out to be a boneheaded mistake on my part. The lesson I
learned was not to execute "chmod 644 lib/*" when staging Linux systems.
Apparently if ld-linux.so is not 'chmod 755', then you will get execv
errors from any process that is not running as root. I don't know why it
works for root
I have an issue I am trying to solve with the BSD lpr package
on a potato system. I have installed the following:
- lpr
- magicfilter
- ghostscript
- netpbm
I have created a printcap using magicfilterconfig which appears
to work fine. When I do something like:
lpr tiger.ps
I can hear
You would need to handle this using the -prune option to find. I just
wrote a script to do something like what you are talking about, and I
*think* that it looks like this:
cd /home/howard
find . -path .netscape/cache/* -prune -path vmware/* -prune -o -print \

This is not exactly what you were asking for, but you might try something
like:
tar -cvMf /dev/sdz directories_to_archive
where /dev/sdz is replaced by the device for your Zip drive. The 'M'

I have installed xquake 1.06 from potato and have a small problem. When I
start xquake, it works fine, and it even automatically starts my CD
playing if one is in the drive, but I don't hear any game sounds. I have
tried leaving the CD drive empty as well as starting with various
combinations of '-
I have been trying to solve this problem without success for about a year
now.
My hardware is:

- 2-port 16550A Serial Card
- 3 x SCSI Hard Drives External
- 1 x SCSI Jaz Drive External
- 1 x SCSI Sony D
My apologies to those who have already seen this.
This subject was originally discussed on the
debian-firewall list, but I though there might be
some on the other lists who would be interested as
well. I have arranged and posted the results of my
experiments in building single floppy 'linux app
