but then gnome exits, the console indicating an error in /usr/lib/libXft.so.2.
Ideas welcome on how to get around this.

Hi! Trying to start Mozilla recently does nothing. ps -A tells me that
a task called mozilla-bin is running but the browser does not come up.
Same systems runs konqueror and netscape perfectly. Galeon, however,
will not start up either. Advice appreciated.

Hi! fvwm seems to have improved a lot recently and is at least
colourfull and fast. But in the default debian package install (at
least on my system) I don't see any debmenus.
Advise and / or pointers to specific parts of docs welcome.

Hi! After all the publicity about the breakins to the Debian servers,
I decided to try to secure my systems better and, alas, not only
failed in the process but trashed my network as well. The loopback
interface lo is down, unreachable (even as root) and ping fails.
Occasionally I get message
