I have a PCI modem which I cant seem to get Linux to see. There also
dose not seem to be a Trident 975 driver for X windows.
Do I have to run the PCI module, which I installed with dselect of the
Debian website? Will this program detect the modem?

I used dselect to install all the communicator programs and it will not
load. I had this problem with the dynamic version in an old installation
but the static version seemed to work . In the latest builds there dose
not seem to be these two versions.
How can I get this product on line?

contains a cd. OpenLinux Lite is this disk compatible with the debian
core that I have installed?
Do I have to install the OpenLinux to take advantage of the programs on
the CD?

After trying everything that fdisk had to offer I used cfdisk and it did
what it was supped to do. Where fdisk fell sort of the mark cfdisk
didn't. I am up and running again.

I have a HD 350 meg Caviar 2340. I cannot change the partitions. Fdisk
says that there are two partition The dos primary and a extended
secondary. It reports that there are logical partitions on the
secondary. Cant delete the secondary partition as the logical partitions
exist. likely the linux

Here is the problem I have been trying to install Debian from a set of
floppies. Things go well until disk 5 is done and it try's to decompress
the final file for install. It gives and error that it cant install the
file and goes to the next step. I then reboot the system. It will go

Deselect will exit on error that it cannot find the file vmlinuz.old in
the base dir. The file shows on a ls. you can mv to a new name. and back
but you cant cp it or open it with ae.
This effectively stops me from installing most of the packages.
what is wrong here and how can I correct it?

net ne2000. If I attempt a dns search from linux will launch the proxy
dialer on the Win95 system. How to I get access to the Win95 tcp/ip
drives from the linux box and vise versa?
