Hi all!
Has anyone been able to get the Acrobat Reader plugin working on
Mozilla? It works fine under Netscape, but putting nppdf.so in
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins seems to have absolutely no effect. I
checked to make sure the permissions are right, but that doesn't seem
to be the problem. It d
Hi all!
I'll be upgrading my machine fairly soon and I'm torn between

Abit KG7-RAID
On one hand, I've used Abit boards before and they are very good. On
the other hand, the Gigabyte board has a built-in audio, so that will

Here it is:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static

network 171.64.93.0
s a static machine with a 3Com 3c905b card. I thought that 2.4.x
kernels automatically took care of the routing tables?

Hi!
Whenever I reboot my system, I get the following error from
/etc/init.d/mountnfs.sh:
RPC: unable to receive, errno: no route to host
The result is that some NFS mount requests fail. The funny thing is
that this happens for only the first directory I try to mount from a
particular host.
Hi all!
Do you have any recommendations on a fast external USB-based CD burner
that works well with the latest kernels (we're running 2.4.5 here)?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Max
P.S. Please cc me on replies.

Hi,
I'm using 2.4.0-test12-pre7 (compiled it on my own, not through a
.deb) and I've encountered a very strange problem. There are certain
websites that my system now refuses to connect to. I know that these
sites are up because other systems can connect to them. And I can
even ping these sa

After upgrading to the latest and greatest version of woody today, I
am getting the following error whenever I try to start X:
Fatal server error:

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks a lot for any help and please cc me on your responses.

I just upgraded to the latest version of X in unstable and here's the
error I get when trying to run startx:
X: server socket directory has suspicious ownership, aborting
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
giving up.
xinit then bombs out and tells me that it cannot connect to

This is truly bizarre, but I can't get rvplayer to work on my system. I'm
using kernel 2.2.3 with glibc2.1.1 and rvplayer segfaults every time I try
to start it. I'm attaching the full strace in the hope that someone knows
what's going on. It seems to barf as soon as it opens locale.alias, but

;m not even sure where to begin with
those). So, is there anyone out there using elm with exim and glibc2.1?
There's got to be at least one person!

ger is that if I send a MIME
message, it goes through OK. Pine also works fine. So, does anyone know
what's going on? I'd really like to get this fixed ASAP, but it seems
that the Debian version of elm wasn't compiled with debugging support.
I'm running glibc2.1 under kernel 2.1.121.
Thanks, and please reply via e-mail!
