I am trying to compile X so that I can use my Geforce2 video card.
I am running debian 2.2r2 and did a clean install yesterday.
I put the source code on the drive and began compiling. The make World
worked fine, but when I did make Install I recieved the following errors...

I would like to update my kernel and I have tried before and it wouldn't
work because of the initrd problem that seems to be rather common. What
exactly needs to be done? I have found Howtos for redhat and others but they
do not work. Is there a Debian kernel howto?

I tried to install Debian on my P3 box. Everything went well, anXious
detected the video card, but when I started X it was in 16 colors. I used
xf86config to change the default server to the SVGA rather than the VGA16,
