Hi.
It seems I am unable to launch X-CD-Roast: I always get the message
Can't initialize the Tix extension.
I have the xcdroast_0.96-1 and the tix41_4.1.0.6-1 packages installed.
It's the first time I use either one, so I don't know if my problem is
specific to those versions.
Does anyone have

You must run xbase-configure after you modify the config file,

I'm using the lastest xserver_s3v from hamm with a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000
(S3 virge chipset). I can't get it to work in 16 bpp mode with a screen
size of 1024x768.
Supposedly, that's because the former s3v specs only allowed a maximum
rate of 80MHz in 16 bpp mode.
Since then, S3 relaxed the spe

Hi everybody.
I've recently encountered two problems while using dselect :
- gs-aladdin keeps downgrading after upgrading (in this case, it
upgrades to 4.03-7 and almost imediately reverts to 4.03-6).
- In the last batch of twenty or so packages I upgraded, one changed the
files I had in /etc/

Since the last version of GhostScript was included in the distribution,
I can't use magicfilter to automagically print my PostScript files. The
reason seems to be : ghostscript now uses SVGAlib. To get I/O
permissions for a 'base' user, it should then be set to +s I believe. Is
that safe to do ? W
