Hi list,
Just a quick question - does anybody know where I can go to figure out
the status of getting a new version of PCManFM? The version currently
in SID is still pretty old and has some showstopper (won't start,

Hey list,
A few days ago one of my parents' computers stopped booting, and they
don't have any external backups, so I have to try and backup the data.

I've googled some, but can't seem to find any active project providing
FTP mounts. Currently I've installed curlftpfs, but cf wikipedia the
project appears to be abandoned. Is there a new version or project that

Thank you!
If it does the trick, I'll make a diff for the mount(8) man page and submit
it... It'll be useful to learn how to submit bugs and such anyway.
Again, thank you both!

How can I use data=journal mode in Sarge, stock kernel 2.4.26-1-i386? If
I include data=journal in /etc/fstab, I'm told that I can't change the
journal mode during a remount. Using tune2fs to set journal=data doesn't
seem to help.
Thanks in advance for assistance!

Woody and then did apt-get dist-upgrade (or somesuch) to bring it up

Didn't require too much effort... If you're not going to run a stable
release, I assume that the extra effort won't be an issue.

some step, as folks on the Net seem to have gotten
this card to work for them. I'm simply unsure about what I need to do. I
know the card works fine because, as I said before, I'm using it right now.
Thanks in advance for clues.

Hi
in Advance,
Kind Regards,

Not a good way to do it. The place for a firewall is before the machines. I
built a pentium 133 with two interfaces as a firewall, and that works great.
Connect the external interface to the hub, use dhcp to get the IP, and use
non-routable IPs for the internal network. Connect a hub or switch to t
I would like to bring postfix and a couple of other packages up to date with
regards to patches, it's been a while since I set them up. What's the
easiest way?

I have debian 2.2.17 on my dual homed firewall. I know that the network card
IPs are set in /etc/networks/interfaces but where is the gateway set?
The only place I could find is /etc/init.d/network but there are settings
for the interfaces there also, and they don't work.

I
installed Win2k on two workstations now all the files I open and save back to my
Debian 2.2 file server are corrupt, filled with nonesense (probably
nulls). I downloaded and upgraded samba to 2.0.7 but the problem still
persists.
Can
anyone help me with this problem?

I'm trying to install Midgard content management system, which requires
glibc. I installed the libglibc library .deb file, but I still can't compile
the midgard files, the error message I get is:
configure: error: glib-config not found. Did you install glib?
Any help?
