Looking for dpkg-split

Dearest Org,   I find that I cannot find "dpkg-split". It does not seem to be in the "tools" directory refered to in the user documents and the faq. I have looked at all the mirrors too, and they have all lived up to the name by also not containing it.   What am I missing here?   Thanks,   D
