my Palm shows up on the bus. I finde the documentation a bit terse. Can
someone provide me with some examples?
Cheers

/usr/share/texmf/ is used by TeX and LaTeX. The directory has
nothing to do with X. If

Hmm, I'm not quite sure if it's only available in woody and sid.
Apt-cache found netcat on my sid box.

I have been trying to compile ICS openmotig on my sid box. I used
the same way that is used in the spec-file which is used to
create the rpms files. After issuing the make World command it
pretty quick dies with the following error message:
gcc DefaultGcc2i386Opt-I../../include -I../../imports
The problem was even more subtle that I thought. Somehow I
misspelled my hostname in GENERICS_DOMAIN. After that my old
genricstable started working again :))
Thanks for the help and sorry for the false alarm.

I'm trying to use gmx as my smarthost. For this to work I have to rewrite my
sender address. I want to use a combination of masqurading + genericstable (I'm
not quite sure if I really need masquerading for this).
Here is a short description of my set up:

While trying to compile ksh93 under Debian I stumbled on some
strange build errors. A search with google brought up some
references about a debian patch for ksh93, which fixed this
problem. I searched in the mailing list archives and with google

I'm trying to convert the arm-documentation from bind 9.1.0 to
tex. In the README-SGML is a short description on how to convert
it. I adjusted the paths to docbook.dsl and xml.dcl. But Jade
just spits out tons of messages like this out:
openjade:/usr/lib/sgml/stylesheet/dsssl/docbook/nwalsh/html/.
This is probably a bit off-topic but I'll ask anyway :)
I just got a DEC vt420 Terminal and hooked it up to my computer.
This works great except for the cursor keys and page up/down. I'm
used to get the command history in bash when pressing cursor up.
But in the terminal the cursor moves up one li

I want to install some type1 fonts for latex X and gs. But I
don't want to copy the same fonts into different directories. Is
there a way to tell the programms to use the same directory?
(Well I guess this is possible, but won't latex choke on
fonts.dir?)

I noticed that tetex comes with the bluesky fonts on Debian. But
somehow they aren't used. Dvips uses still the pixel fonts. What
special magic do I have to apply to get dvips use the bluesky
type1 fonts?

I want to make xdm get a TGT (Ticket Granting Ticket) from the
server. Right now I always have to run kinit and enter my
username and password, which is the same as the local username
and password. I'm tired of entering my username and password
twice.
Any hints?
