selective mirror

I would like to make a selective mirror (i.e. left out some packages) of the whole debian (slink) distribution. So my question are: 1. how may I rebuild Packages.gz and Release files according to my sub-distribution? 2. should I keep the same structure of sections (eg: base, games

I am looking for the appropriate place where to put some basic environmental definition like: PAGER=less so that they take effect to every user (unless explicitly overwritten) WHATEVER LOGIN SHELL they use. is that possible? I saw a file /etc/environment who reads it ? thanks marco

agp graphics cards with slink

many computers bought in the last few mounts have agp graphics cards. the x servers that come with debian slink seem not capable to handle with them. how to work around this problem? (possibly without upgrading to potato) thanks, marco
