I have to start a machine with rescue CD because lilo is broken. (I
probably just have to run /sbin/lilo as root to correct this) The
problem is that booting with rescue root=/dev/sda1 won't work because
my drive is a RAID-5 and I need to load an extra-module to make it

What's the problem in that case ?
Refering other answers, i'm still using an old 2.6.5. Not taken the
time yet to upgrade to 2.6.10.

Another way to burn is to do this manually, on console line. Not the
easiest way, but a reliable one !
You can take a look at CD-Burning howto, it's not so difficult !

I'm searching an input filter ('if' in printcap files) witch could
convert ESC/P2 formatting input to PCL or PS compatible ...
Does anyone know anything about that ?

y. I use a CUPS print server
on a linux/debian box to reach it.
I'm searching a filter to convert ESC/P language to PCL or PS one. But
haven't find it so long. Adding the correct 'if' line in printcap file
could solve the problem ...
