Strange issue during boot

This may be a little OT, but I've tried other "more relevant" OS lists and not gotten anywhere. I recently updated all the computers I use on a regular basis from Ubuntu 10.10 to Xubuntu 12.04. To its credit, this boots up to a graphic of Debian, which is, after all, the underlying OS distro for

OT - Frequency of unsolicited emails

I've noticed since joining this list a number of weeks back that it is the only technical/OS discussion list to which I subscribe that frequently, as in one or more daily, ends up with emails in my spam list. Are we somehow more susceptible or less secure from spam than other lists, like Ubuntu us
