i have a working setup for suspend to ram (S3 state) with a
debian-kernel-2.6.11.
Trying for the suspend to disk (hibernate, s4), i always receive a message
which states that the swap device cannot be found even if :
the swap is on (/dev/hda5)

A small suggestion about framebuffer in console mode:
1) There is a bug open if you compile the kernel (2.6.9+)yourself; you have to
comple it as a module, and then load the module via initrd; if you use the
"make-kpkg --initrd " it is sufficient to add
vesafb
fbcon
to the /etc/mkinitrd/mod
Try the powernowd - it works very well. It has an aggressive feature which
will skyrocket processor herz's, thus limitign the performance losses. It
should be in debian sid (or experimental).
