For some reason I am having printing weirdness on this machine. I am

I did apt-get dist-upgrade to testing this morning, and now when I
connect to the net using wvdial, the dns entries in resolv.conf are
not updating. This leaves me without a useful net conneciton ( I can
get out by numerical ip address, but this is not terribly useful).
Any help in remedying this

I have had some rather bad disk corrpution (laptop battery failed on
me I think). The easiest way for me to
fix it as far as I can see is to re-install as there are a few key
applications that don't work.. I have a root partition
and a /home partition. Only the /root partion is affected. I can
g returned an error code (1)
Can anyone advise how to fix please. I'm running potato with Kernel
2.2.17. Am I going to have to reinstall (please no)?

I have a slightly obscure problem recompiling my potato
kernel-source-2.2.17 on a P100 laptop.
I have a disk space problem and therefore tried to unpack the kernel
sources on my other partition, which is a now redundant vfat partition
that had win 95 on it.
